My name is Shenping Sun. I was born in a northeast city in China.
I speak standard Mandarin. My college major (in China)
was English. I taught English to college students from 1982 until I came to the
USA in 1991. I
got my MA majoring in sociology at UIC in 1994 and studied for two years at Kellogg
Graduate School
at Northwestern. I worked as a Teaching Assistant at UIC for two years while I
was a graduate student. I volunteered in Xilin
Chinese School
at UIC for years involved in both teaching and management activities. I also gave private
lessons (Conversational Chinese) to an English speaking adult for more than a
year (1994-1995). I have been working in the US
companies for about ten years and my most current job title was Sr. Statistical
Analyst.
I always enjoy teaching and am very confident that my
students will enjoy my class too.
