  • Learned drawing from an early age (about 5) and practiced fine arts till entering graduate school.  Parents are formally educated artist and so I lived in arts environment through childhood and youth.  Practiced sketching (char-pen, fountain-pen), water-color, sculpture, posters of various forms, and Chinese brush painting.  Seated for Arts College Entering Exam in ‘77.  Drawing topics practiced include stills, sceneries, animals, portraits and ads posters.  Learned fine arts theory and history from books, parents and their friends.
  • Published at age of 7 a piece (paper-cutting) in province newspaper.  Drew posters (color) at elementary, middle school and college.  Exhibited one piece (color-poster) at a local arts exhibition at 19.  Sold some of my paintings (Chinese brush) at artists market while in first months in graduate school.
  • Trained as a middle school teacher, but taught college and did scientific researches later on, and now programming computers.  Taught Chinese as Second Language at a state government language school in weekends for 1 ½ year for the 6-12 years old (‘96-‘98).  Really enjoyed teaching kids, including tutoring my own ones at home occasionally.
