2009 RCS Food Culture Day in Naperville

It is the fifth year of the increasingly popular RCS Food Culture Day hosted by the Ray Chinese School (RCS)
and some of the best Naperville local Asian food restaurants. It will again be held at one of downtown Naperville's busiest areas, VFW Hall,
right across Nichols Library on Jackson Street and close to Centennial beach. The event will be open to general public from 11 AM to 2 PM.
Live performances will take place through the event.
This year's event will once again feature demonstrations of art, music, and of course, gourmet food.
The RCS Food Culture Day has been a great opportunity for RCS students to showcase what they have learned in the universally understood language of
food and drink by emphasizing the merging their traditional heritage with their infinitely dynamic American surroundings. Students will act as
ushers and servers, present their research on culinary trends, and transcend the language barrier while serving food.
Visitors will get the opportunity to celebrate, learn, and savor Asian hospitality, culture, heritage and cuisine.
Without leaving the comfort of VFW, visitors will vividly experience China, Japan, and Korea together with the Asian-American participants living
in the culturally diverse community of Naperville. Visitors will be able to participate in activities for children, view many authentic demonstrations
and performances, sample Asian cuisine, and do much, much more at the event. You can enjoy all sorts of activities from handicraft, paper-cutting,
calligraphy to a professional culinary cooking show. Don't miss out on the opportunity to savor the Asian culture and cuisine, come and join us.
